JOB/POSITION TITLE: Accounting Clerk STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-time PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide clerical assistance and administrative support.
Support Director of Finance and Assistant Controller as needed.
Reports To: Director of Finance ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS: Daily Sales/Cash and Check Processing.
Assist with cash counting, cash verifying, recording daily sales, and processing checks via remote deposit.
Neuter Now Program.
Assist with processing neuter now applications, following up with applicants on missing items, issuing certificates, verification of used certificates and making appointments in Clinic HQ.
Feline Fix Program.
Assist with verification and compilation of certificates.
Finance.
Supports the Finance Department with clerical duties including filing, creating and updating spreadsheets, scanning, and mailing.
OTHER DUTIES/FUNCTIONS: Other duties to support various Finance department team members.
JOB CONDITIONS: Work Environment: Indoors in an air-conditioned office.
Equipment Use: Telephone system, computer (Microsoft Suite, shelter management database - PetPoint), printer, copier, fax machine, postage machine, postage scale.
Work Hours: Approximately 20 - 30 hours per week as scheduled by supervisor.
Travel: May need to travel between two campuses.
May need to pick up supplies from vendors.
MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND COMMUNICATION DEMANDS: Must maintain and present personal conduct, personal appearance and office space as a professional.
Includes well-groomed and professional appearance and tidy office areas.
Must exercise compassion, patience, professionalism, flexibility and tact when dealing with a broad range of volunteers and the public including difficult, emotional or angry people.
Must have a flexible disposition to work with and engage a variety of clients, volunteers, supporters and donors.
Must be committed to behaving in an ethical manner.
Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced office and work with multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.
Valid driver's license, good driving record, access to own automobile and proof of no-fault insurance required.
Must be committed to developing a deep knowledge of progressive animal welfare issues.
Must agree with and be committed to Hawaiian Humane goals, objectives and programs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices including telephone operation and etiquette, and operation of office equipment such as calculators, computers, fax machine, copiers and printers.
Great customer service skills are required.
Must be computer proficient utilizing Microsoft Office systems and ability to acquire skills in the use of microcomputer systems and associated software.
Must agree with and be committed to Society goals, objectives, and programs.
Education/Training: High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or some college coursework preferred.
Experience: 3 years of data entry and general office experience preferred.
