Description This position is fully remote, but the candidate must be located in Hawaii and attend meetings as needed.
As Hawaii's Partnership for Climate Smart Commodities (CSC) Program Manager, you will lead Lynker's Team in the management and administrative responsibilities of the USDA Climate-Smart Commodities award titled Hawai i Climate-Smart Commodities: A Portfolio Approach to Equitably Scaling the Agriculture Sector.
The Hawaii CSC Program will incentivize the adoption of important climate smart practices across Hawaii's forest, agroforest, silvopasture, and crop production spectrum, as well as perform the required data and marketing/branding efforts to demonstrate meaningful climate benefits and increased market values.
The Hawaii CSC Program is a five-year USDA grant-funded effort that involves universities, producer organizations, producer recipients, among others.
The Hawaii CSC Program Manager will be working with the Partnership's Design and Innovation leadership, personnel, and multi-stakeholder teams of professionals across climate, agronomic, and indigenous biocultural areas and is key to ensuring the smooth administration of the grant award and function of the Partnership.
This is a non-research, management position that requires excellent interpersonal and writing skills, a high level of organization, diplomacy and focus, ability to work under tight deadlines, and familiarity with collaborative, multidisciplinary research-workforce training-outreach team environments, environmental justice and community-led initiatives, and related data management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Contracts and invoicing Ensure accurate invoicing to USDA and following online submission requirements.
Subawards.
Monitor and support partner organizations and producer recipient subawards and monitor sub awardees are meeting deliverables (milestones, invoices, receipts, Monthly Status Reports, etc.
).
Reporting Coordinate, compile and provide USDA with required quarterly and annual reports and project milestones tracker updates.
Program performance monitoring and information systems Provide guidance and support to the Hawaii CSC dashboard to assure it meets program needs and is regularly updated so that accurate reporting can occur.
Monitor, support and track program requirements (i.
e.
, key deliverables, tasks, scheduled events/activities) to completion across the project.
Supervise and support Assistant Program Manager Support their duties working with corporate support, project partners, and producer recipients.
Program support and coordination Communicate and collaborate with Hawaii CSC Principal Investigators on a regular basis.
Participate in and facilitate, as needed, Hawaii CSC organizational meetings scheduled at regular intervals with key partners.
Support planning the regular and annual virtual and in-person partnership meetings.
Collaboratively develop and implement solutions in partnership with sub awardees for unforeseen project needs and deliverables.
Other Duties Complete other relevant duties, as assigned by and in consultation with Division leadership.
Pursue continuous professional development and learning opportunities around soil science and data management, indigenous agricultural practices and the Native Hawaiian worldview on ecosystem relationships.
Requirements: Master's degree or additional relevant years of experience, from an accredited college or university in business, agricultural sciences, natural resource management, sustainability or other relevant disciplines and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Minimum of five years of experience managing projects, including handling complex project logistics; managing grants and/or contracts, from execution through completion.
Experience coordinating and managing cross-functional project team meetings.
Experience working in, or involvement with, a highly diverse/diversified Hawai'i agriculture sector including crop production systems, ranching, and forestry.
Must be able to operate in a flexible, adaptive, and quick turn-around work environment.
Experience working across complex teams or multiple programs.
Experience working with underserved populations in the context of equity and environmental justice initiatives.
Experience with federal, state, and/or private sector grant and/or contract management.
Excellent personnel and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
The candidate must be highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Applications.
Preferred Experience: Experience uploading and downloading information to digital dashboards for project management, communication, tracking, or reporting purposes.
Compensation: Based upon relevant experience within the range of $90,000 - $105,000/year.
