Clerk maintains the cleanliness and sanitation standards required of the Food Service department according to approved procedures and standards.

*\*\*ESSENTIAL FUNCTION\*\**
*Major Responsibilities*
·Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with customers.
·Clean and sanitize departmental equipment, including knives, pots, pans, and cooking equipment.
·Follow approved procedures for disassembling and cleaning meat slicers, grinders, etc.
·Clean, scrub, and disinfect walk-in chill floors, working floors, shelves, dollies, etc.
·Ensure that all cooking equipment is degreased and cleaned according to departmental standards.
·Assist in schedule maintenance, breakdowns, and cleaning.
·Maintain cleanliness of all areas, including walls, ceilings, and drains.
·Accurately mix and label sanitizing and cleaning liquids.
·Dispose of all rubbish and boxes and operate the baler.
·Use proper safeguards to alert others to potential hazards.
·Assist with receiving freight and the storage and rotation of products.
·Maintain overall cleanliness of the entire department, including the kitchen, storage, and sales floor.
·Follow all government and regulatory agency rules and regulations.
·Comply with company programs, philosophies, and mission statements.
·Communicate with the department manager to ensure equipment is in safe working condition and properly maintained.
*Periodic Responsibilities*
·Respond promptly to emergencies or potential safety hazards.
·Assist in light food prep if needed.
·Restock plastic and paper goods, drinks, and condiments.
·Assist in the breakdown of service line and back kitchens.
·Perform additional duties as needed
*\*\*JOB REQUIREMENTS\*\**
*Educations & Experience & Certifications *
·Minimum age of 18; High School Graduate preferred.
·May be required to pass a physical culinary skills test
·May be required to pass a written culinary skills test
*Physical*
·Carry up to 50 pounds, If more, then with assistance.
·Frequent use of arms and hands to prepare food products.
·Bend and reach for products stored at lower or higher levels.
·Prolonged standing, walking, and manual dexterity required.
*Mental*
·Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, verbally and in writing.
·Ability to listen to directions and work independently.
·Possess a pleasant, patient, and friendly attitude.
·Ability to work independently and as a team member.

*Work Environment: *
·Fast-paced environment
·Extremes in temperature: Warehouse/kitchen (100 degrees +); Chill (35 degrees); Freezer (10 degrees below zero).
*Potential Hazards:*
·Work with hot pans, serving trays, grill, oven, steamer, fryer, etc.
·Work with chemicals for sanitation and cleaning
·Work with knives and slicing machinery
