The Food Service Driver is primarily responsible for delivering foods to various island-wide locations, securing mandatory paperwork for audit purposes, properly handling food on deliveries, and maintaining vehicle and mileage records and program equipment.

*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES*: Position Specific Duties.
* Confirms route schedule and delivery times daily.
* Verifies counts, changes, special meals and all other components associated with meal service.
* Packs meals in transport equipment such as heated caddies, holding caddies, and coolers.
Lifts and loads filled equipment into company vehicle.
* Delivers meals to assigned routes in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
* Maintains vehicles including mileage record, fuel, sanitation, general maintenance, and security.
* Adheres to all traffic rules and regulations.
* Maintains all other program equipment including heated caddies, holding caddies, coolers and cellular telephones.
* Cleans kitchen either by wiping, washing, moping, dusting, sweeping, emptying disposal bin, waxing, scraping, buffing, etc.
* Cleans kitchen appliances, utensils, pots and pans and cooking equipment at regular intervals meeting Food Service sanitation standard.
* Ensures supplies are properly stored, stocked, labeled and rotated utilizing the FIFO method and made available to complete assignments.
* Inspects equipment and tools.
* Reports any maintenance problems to supervisor; does not operate any equipment or tools in unsafe condition.
* Performs general cleaning of equipment and tools at regular intervals.
* Supports kitchen staff in preparation of meals and for deliveries to customers, as required.
* Attends staff meetings and training workshops.
* Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
* Be sensitive to the needs of the elderly, caregivers, and people with disabilities.
* Completes assignment according to quality and safety standards.
* Participates in training or demonstration to others on how to complete tasks meeting quality and safety standards.
Other Duties: * Follows all safety procedure and practices, and that safeguards and proper safety gear, such as gloves, and hairnets are used when appropriate.
* Follows established work rules, standards of conduct, policies, procedures and practices.
* Performs other reasonably related business duties as assigned.
* Completes training as mandated by organizational policy.
*WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:* * Scheduled for work 5 days a week.
Monday-Friday: 5:00 am.
– 1:00 pm.
8-hour shift may vary.
May be required to work outside of normal business hours including weekends and holidays to meet operational needs and contract requirements.
* Works under a fast-paced environment * Works with diverse group of people and at times under difficult situations * Indoor – kitchen environment; steam and heat from cooking and dish washing often cause uncomfortably high temperatures.
The area is usually noisy, floors may be damp/wet where food or beverages have been dripped or wet from daily mopping that is usually performed while the workers are in the area.
* Some workers may be subjected to getting wet while using steam/pressure-washing equipment.
Some workers are exposed to extreme temperatures of the hot kitchen and the walk-in refrigerator or freezer and reefers.
Will be exposed to weather outside weather conditions including heat, rain and humidity.
*EQUIPMENT USE:* * Assigned company vehicle for deliveries.
* Standard delivery equipment including coolers, thermal bags, heated caddies, holding caddies and pushcart.
* Assigned company cellular telephone.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required * Education: High School or Certificate of Completion or equivalent * Experience: Minimum1 year related work; previous commercial driving preferred.
* Clearance/Certification: 1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug testing, 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective check.
* Valid driver license and clean driver’s abstract MENTAL DEMANDS: * Willingness to gain and possess a thorough knowledge of the delivery and distribution procedures of the Food Service program.
* Use of considerable initiative and good judgment.
* Ability to multi-task and work under minimal supervision.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
* Ability to work with a diverse group of people and at times under difficult situations.
* Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of people, as well as the ability to work well in a team setting.
* Demonstrate basic knowledge of the geographic areas of Oahu and the ability to map out delivery locations.
* Demonstrate the ability to observe all Federal, State, City and County driving laws.
* Demonstrate customer service skills.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
