JOB Title: Institutional Data AnalystHiring Unit: C OF BUS ADM, Shidler College Dean’s OfficeLocation: UH at ManoaSalary : TBD based on qualificationsFull Time/Part Time: Part time (19 hrs/week, up to 6 months)Temporary/Permanent: Temporary, casual hireOpen date: March 1, 2024Close date: March 8, 2024Start date: April 1, 2024 Duties and Responsibilities The Institutional Data Analyst will work under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Student Services and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to develop data collection, management, and reporting tools related to Shidler College of Business’s educational and research operations.
Specific duties may include the following: Extract data from UH and UHM institutional data repositories (MIRO IROPO) related to Shidler operations.
Extract and evaluate data from the Digital Measures faculty database; produce standard reports as needed.
Analyze data and producing reports via spreadsheets or other data analytics tools.
Assist in the analysis of data required to monitor metrics outlined in the Shidler Strategic plan.
Assist in developing data collection, storage and reporting procedures for key metrics identified.
Document data collection, storage and reporting procedures.
Provide training on data collection to administrative staff or faculty as needed.
Provide written documentation for users of systems developed.
Minimum Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in management information systems, computer science, data analytics or related field or related field.
Experience with software suites including Google Apps and Microsoft Office, including experience with data collection forms and spreadsheet analytical tools.
Full-time work or internship experience working with several of the following: information systems requirements specification, data collection and system design, development of data analytics dashboards, design of data stores with knowledge of information security procedures.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to learn new information systems software use quickly;Demonstrated ability to be well-organized, pay attention to detail, and effectively manage tasks;Other related duties as assigned.
Desirable Qualifications Masters degree in management information systems, data analytics, computer science or related fields.
At least one year of progressively responsible experience developing data analytics environments.
