Come join Child & Family Service and help us serve thousands in our communities! SUMMARY OF DUTIES The Chief Risk and Operating Officer (CROO) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of Child & Family Service (CFS) operations.
The CROO sets the organization's operational strategy in partnership with the President & Chief Executive Officer and recommends strategic directions for and implementation of organization services consistent with organization mission and strategic plan.
In partnership with Executive and Senior Leadership teams, CROO is responsible for developing and sustaining effective succession management to ensure CFS has the talent to deliver on our strategic objectives.
Executive and Senior leaders are also responsible for leading efforts to ensure organizational health while cultivating a learning organization that emphasizes a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for our participants and our staff.
The CROO sets the tone for an organization-wide performance-based culture.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Managing of CFS operations to include Safety, Technology, Data, Impact, Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Training.
Working effectively as a member of the CFS Executive leadership team and fostering effective teamwork throughout the organization.
Leading through HOPE values, ensuring cultural alignment throughout the organization.
Managing toward consistently greater effectiveness and demonstrating improved performance throughout the organization.
Provide proactive strategy in risk mitigation.
Developing and monitoring budget plans for all departments and ensures performance to budget and consistency with strategic goals.
Monitoring and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures to minimize and/or eliminate risk.
Working in partnership with the Executive Team to ensure high level communication and minimal silos across department areas.
Representing CFS and its mission/services to external groups.
At the request of the President & CEO, interfacing with CFS Board of Directors and CFS Real Property Board members.
Oversight of Senior Leaders The CROO attends CFS Board of Directors and CFS Real Property Board Inc.
meetings.
As determined by the President & CEO, the CROO represents CFS at selected Boards, Committees and Task Forces.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS Masters' Degree from a school accredited by a recognized accrediting organization.
Requires knowledge of an advanced EXPERIENCE Over six years.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED Must have a demonstrated record of success managing a complex, interdisciplinary, multi-service organization in a rapidly changing/challenging environment.
Must have strong program development and business/financial skills.
Must have a track record of working with state agencies, local government and a wide range of other funding sources to develop innovative, mission-related programs.
OTHER POSITION REQUIREMENTS This job requires a valid Hawaii driver's license, a clear driver's abstract, and use of personal vehicle to transport clients, as needed, as well as a willingness to travel in personal vehicle on an as-needed basis throughout the island.
The nature of this position requires the incumbent to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
