Position: Substance Use Treatment Clinical Supervisor (half-time)

JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of the Substance Use Treatment Clinical Supervisor is to provide clinical supervision of the treatment services provided by the residential and outpatient counseling staff to ensure that all integrated substance use disorder treatment program service delivery, licensing, accreditation and best practices and contract standards/procedures are met.
Half-time supervisor will work closely with the Clinical Director and may cover and/or maintain a small client caseload.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in a behavioral health discipline and License and/or CSAC.
If no CSAC, then
there needs to be a plan for obtaining CSAC within two years.
Preference for a minimum of two years’ experience in
a residential substance uses treatment facility and/or supervisory or managerial role in substance use treatment program.
Personal vehicle and valid Hawaii State driver license required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Supports Clinical Director in the supervision, selection, orientation and training of substance abuse counselors and completes annual employee performance evaluations as well as provides any training or disciplinary actions as needed.
• Conducts monthly clinical staff meetings and chairs weekly treatment team meeting and supports Admissions and Intake Coordinator around admission planning.
• Supports Clinical Director in ensuring that program treatment requirements as identified in licensing, accreditation and contract agreements are met appropriately.
Requirements could include updating program.
schedules and handbooks, client documents and agency policies related to substance use treatment programming.
• Participates in advocacy and education efforts in the community and with state partners in gender responsive
treatment services.
• Maintains knowledge on research and best practices related to gender responsive treatment and makes recommendations to the Clinical Director for program development based on evidence-based and other quality assessments and tools.
• In accordance with census needs, may support counseling team as a direct service provider, including some counseling, treatment planning and facilitation.
• Maintains work area in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
• Performs other related management duties as assigned.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Able to meet basic standards of physical, mental health, and communication demands.
Specified by State and/or
professional accreditation standards applicable to this agency.
Initial/Annual criminal background check, preemployment, annual physical examination, CPR/first aid, TB test, and driver abstract compliance with agency policy
are required.
