Position Summary Reports to the Senior Manager on Duty – SOCC Key Responsibilities Directs the daily execution of the flight schedule while working with appropriate departments to ensure the optimum balance of on-time reliability, aircraft utilization, customer loyalty, and profitability Prevent, manage, and recover from irregular operations by developing strategies for minimizing negative impacts Solves irregular operations with complex analytical thinking and quick decision making, often under abbreviated time constraints Uses safety and reliability as prime directives and seeks to avoid undue financial burdens on the business Initiate necessary changes to daily aircraft routing, crewing, and schedules to enhance operational safety and reliability by working with and through functions within SOCC (Maintenance Control, Dispatch, Crew Scheduling, Customer Service) and affected station personnel Ensure daily flight operations comply with the Federal Air Regulations, Federal and local government and airports, and the Company's regulations and policies Facilitate the daily operational review with executives and operational managers to meet or exceed corporate on-time performance, safety, customer satisfaction goals, and seeking overall process improvement Monitor flight reliability to meet DOT reporting requirements and proactively manage flight schedule to mitigate risks for poor performance Manage the preparation of daily company reports relating to SOCC measures Provide operation center floor leadership and a point of unification for the departments represented within the SOCC Individual professional development and other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must have FAA Aircraft Dispatcher license (or receive license within 2 years of position acceptance).
5 years of airline operational experience and demonstrated 2 years of consistent leadership experience Knowledge of FARs Strong computer skills and ability to learn and use new systems Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to work under pressure with all levels of employees Ability to motivate and mentor employees Ability to consistently lead and coach teams for successful problem resolution Ability to make decisions quickly with emphasis on operational reliability and customer service Ability to plan and execute flight schedules based on loads, station capabilities, regulatory and contractual limitations Ability to organize the efforts of multiple departments towards a singular outcome or goal Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work across organizational functions to achieve shared outcomes Must be a self starter and organized with excellent follow-up skills Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with other departments, government agencies, and external business units Good written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work flexible hours Hawaiian Airlines is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT - regulation, 49 CFR part 40) and all applicants are advised that post-offer and/or pre-employment drug testing will be conducted to determine the presence of Marijuana, Cocaine, Opioids, PCP (Phencyclidine), and Amphetamine prior to any offer of employment or transfer into a safety-sensitive position.
