Position Summary We are looking for a talented, driven individual to lead the Technical Operations Vendor Performance Management (VPM) team at Hawaiian Airlines.
The VPM team is responsible for maintaining Technical Operations vendor relationships and proactively resolving issues involving Technical Operations contracts, maintenance reserves, and warranties with both vendors and lessors.
The VPM Director is also responsible for the Company’s Technical Operations power-by-the-hour (PBH) budget and monthly variances.
Key Responsibilities Lead critical initiatives related to the Company's strategic vendor relationships and contracts for Technical Operations, including Maintenance & Engineering, Flight Operations, and Supply Chain Management groups, and brief senior management as required Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendor representatives and vendor leadership, including maintenance service providers, flight operations vendors, lessors and other airlines Accountable for development, review, negotiation and execution of Technical Operations contracting projects, including power-by-the-hour contracts, Technical Services contracts, Flight Ops contracts, etc.
, and seeking maintenance reserve reimbursements after maintenance events Proactively identify and negotiate cost savings across Technical Operations vendor relationships and contracts Provide leadership to Portfolio Manager, Associate Portfolio Manager, and Specialists by assigning projects, delegating tasks, mentoring, and evaluating their performance Accountable for tracking vendor’s contract performance across Technical Operations functions, including Maintenance and Engineering, Flight Operations, and Supply Chain Management; review with each vendor on a regular basis Proactively identify and clear roadblocks for the team to effectively complete highest-impact projects in a timely manner Maintain cross-department relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts at Hawaiian Airlines to ensure supplier partnerships are effectively integrated and meeting performance expectations Collaborate with Sourcing & Procurement throughout RFP, vendor selection and subsequent contracting process - delegating as necessary Responsible for creation of Technical Operations power-by-the-hour budget and explanation of variances Develop and implement tools and processes to make the team and vendors more efficient (and effective); create and maintain dashboard to track vendor performance and capture remedies Work in coordinated effort with senior management to achieve Department goals Contribute to organization-wide fleet planning projects by providing the Technical Operations perspective to aircraft transactions and other fleet specific projects Contribute to the definition, evaluation, and implementation of the overall Technical Operations strategy for each fleet by ensuring the “whole aircraft is covered” for spare parts and maintenance support, including aircraft engines Other duties as required Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience 7 years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in managing strategic relationships Management experience leading individual employees and multiple, diverse teams with a track record of developing people and creating high performance teams Ability to handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited institution Strong, demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills involving both business problems and people interactions Superb technical skills – in depth knowledge of MS office suite, specifically Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrates initiative and willingness to take on leadership responsibilities Interpersonal attributes to create and maintain collaborative team environment Strong proficiency in financial analysis, statistical analysis, cost control, discounted cash flow analysis, forecasting techniques and variance analysis Experience negotiating large strategic contracts Airline maintenance repair and overhaul operations / planning experience About Hawaiian Airlines Now in its 94th year of continuous service, Hawaiian is Hawaiʻi's biggest and longest-serving airline.
