This position will be responsible for working outside of normal business hours to assist with the effective implementation and administration of the day-to-day training scheduling for all operations workgroups.
Supporting Training & Development, this Assistant Manager will have an operationally critical role in making informed decisions requiring the highest level of urgency, with a focus on maximizing productivity and minimizing cost of high value assets.
Key Responsibilities Address any late add, critical, immediate training needs over the next days, weeks, and remainder of current month.
Assist in managing experienced team of training schedulers, working around the clock to efficiently staff HA & Vendor training locations around the world.
Provide clear direction and oversight of daily scheduling activities (sick calls, device malfunctions, etc.
) in compliance with each work group’s CBA contractual rules & limitations.
Influence on the spot decision making by imparting knowledge of historical data over past 12-24 months to ensure consistency of scheduling practices.
Deliver excellent customer service utilizing multiple methods of communication, including in person briefings, executive summaries, recorded phone calls, timely response to emails, and informative newsletters.
Maintain documented departmental policies & procedures that support standardization and actively eliminate errors (uncovered events, double allocations) within any 7-day rolling period.
Help research any instances of alleged CBA non-compliance and draft detailed responses to be sent within 7 days to Union & Company Leadership.
Ensure training plan maintains compliance with HA policies and procedures, FAA & TSA regulations, IATA & ICAO guidelines, and applicable collective bargaining agreements (CBA).
Aid in delivering robust training programs by ensuring training scheduling staff are knowledgeable of automation available to streamline workflows within 90 days of their hire.
Promote the use of repeatable open event assignment processes that reduce wasted, nonproductive instructor/evaluator time and minimize overtime cost.
Utilize Training Management System (TMS) in compliance with all regulatory approved curriculum outlines, including Flight Operations Training Manual (FOTM) and Training Program Manual (TPM).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and related working experience.
2 years of management experience in a Part 121 airline pilot training program.
Minimum of 1 year of experience with direct reports or supervisory experience.
Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of training management systems, preferably MINT.
