Job Description Template Job Purpose The Managing Director, Information Technology (IT) leads and manages the organization’s information technology department.
As the key technical leader at LT, the Managing Director will ensure that technology operations effectively meet the short- and long- term organizational goals.
LT is a forward-thinking organization and as such, the Managing Director is expected to meet or exceed best practices while continuing to push the boundaries of efficiency through early adoption of technology solutions.
The position reports to the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Essential Responsibilities • Oversees all information technology functions at LT; • Assesses the organization’s technology needs and sets short- and long-term implementation goals; • Build empowered and high-performing teams; • Works with the CFO to drive organizational vision and operational strategy; • Ensure the technology environment supports organizational efficiency; • Develop standard, best in class operating processes where needed; • Collaborate with other senior leaders to develop underlying processes and reports that emphasize rigor, empowers teammates, and prioritizes expediency and efficiency; • Develop and maintain relationships internally and externally in the best interest of LT; and • Contribute to LT’s success through collaboration, communication, and knowledge-sharing with all teammates to improve team and organizational results.
Other duties: • Contributes to the Trust’s success by accepting new assignments, helping team members, learning new skills, and striving to improves team and organization results.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree with at least eight years of progressive general leadership responsibility and a successful track record managing an information technology department.
• Must have a strong personal fit with our non-hierarchical, no ego, intellectually honest, meritocratic culture.
• Superior written and communication skills.
• Action-oriented, entrepreneurial spirit, flexible, visionary, and innovative approach to operational management.
• Must be a critical thinker, intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and unafraid to ask questions or give opinions.
• Must possess strong qualitative judgment as well as quantitative aptitude, and must be driven to work hard within a high-performance team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience working with non-profits in a leadership role, highly desired.
• Prior experience leading information technology and/or large operational departments.
