Description Dean and Director of Research and Cooperative Extension College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources The University of Hawai‘i at Manoa (UH Manoa ) seeks a proven and visionary leader to serve as Dean and Director of Research and Cooperative Extension (Dean) at the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR).
The next dean will be an energetic motivator who can leverage the many strengths of the University and the people and environments of Hawai‘i.
These strengths include Hawai‘i’s unique rich indigenous and ancestral knowledge, multi-cultural diversity, and geographical attributes, and will be used to further develop CTAHR as the premier higher education resource to solve complex and interrelated problems in food systems, food security, natural resources management, and community resiliency and human well-being in the Pacific-Asia region.
CTAHR strives to prepare all students, and all community members, for life-long learning.
The dean will need a high level of managerial comprehension to facilitate complex matters relating to budgets, programs, personnel, and facilities.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with transdisciplinary sciences and facilitating community-based partnerships that build capacity resulting in mutually beneficial social and ecological outcomes.
As the founding College of the University of Hawai‘i in 1907, the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources is central to the land-grant mission of the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa (UH Manoa).
CTAHR provides exceptional transdisciplinary education, research, and extension in tropical agriculture, natural resources, and human well-being to local and global communities.
