Primary Responsibilities:
In the role of Environmental Director, we'll count on you to:
Provide full time support to the Honolulu Authority of Rapid Transit while located in their office.
Coordinate with various agencies and stakeholders to ensure environmental compliance through design, construction, and revenue operations, which may include coordinating with subconsultants, project contractors, and state and federal regulatory/resource agencies for the implementation of the Mitigation Monitoring Program.
Collect project-related data, which may include research, interviews with government agencies and clients, map reviews, field investigations for wetlands, and land use.
Conduct environmental impact assessments.
Assist in preparation for and participation in public information meetings and hearings.
Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and similar reports/documents.
Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Planning, Environmental, or closely related field.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in planning, NEPA compliance, or related field.
A minimum of 8 years of environmental experience.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research abilities.
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with managing other planning/environmental professionals.
