JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Safety and Technical Training will implement policies to ensure Royal Hawaiian Movers have a safe and healthy work environment.
The incumbent will ensure employees are compliant and trained to perform their job duties in a safe and competent manner.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures; establishing job skill assessments; and identifying safety and training needs within the organization.
Location: Honolulu, HI 96819
Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 per year
Schedule: Monday to Friday, full-time, exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspects facilities to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
Monitors compliance with safety and environmental procedures.
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Maintains records of employee exposure to and/or discharge of hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
Conducts thorough investigations pertaining to work-related accidents and/or incidents.
Develops job and technical skill assessments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) Trucking regulations.
Familiarity with Department of Transportation, Airports Division (DOTA) environmental compliance program.
Extensive knowledge of Hawaii Occupational Safety and Health (HIOSH) standards and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Excellent organization skills and attention to details.
Proficient in technology and equipment used in inspections and typical office environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Must have a valid Hawaii Driver’s License \
Must clear required employment screening and DOT drug screen.
Must be able to travel to neighbor islands as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field highly desirable.
High school diploma, completion of GED, or equivalent.
5+ years of related experience is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Physically able to conduct inspections, access and navigate each area of the company.
