Summary of Program and Position:
Parents And Children Together provides afterschool drop-in centers for youth ages 7-18 who live in and around two public housing complexes, Kuhio Park Terrace and Puuwai Momi in Halawa.
These programs promote the development of healthy youth, families and community with an abundance of positive experiences for youth and family members including educational, recreational, community building and support services.
Services, activities and hours may vary by site.
The Youth Center Leader performs a variety of duties assisting with the planning and implementation of positive youth activities at a program for at-risk youth including academic enrichment, sports and recreation, community service, and social and life skills.
This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor or Program Director.
Essential Duties:
1.
Behaves in a manner that supports the agency's mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
2.
Facilitates groups with Teen Program participants.
3.
Assists with the development and implementation of program activities and services including daily routines, special events, and off-site activities.
4.
Supervises youth participating in Teen program activities and accompanies supervising staff when transporting youth to off-site activities.
5.
Engages, connects, and interacts with the youth enrolled in the program and their families.
6.
Develops and maintains effective, collaborative relationships with other Teen Program staff.
7.
Maintains a data collection system to ensure that appropriate records are kept for assigned projects and activities.
8.
Ensures that respective program reports and data are submitted in a timely manner to the Program Director / Program Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Training:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Other:
1.
Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license.
2.
Has daily access to an automobile.
3.
Possesses and maintains proof of no-fault insurance.

Experience:
One year’s experience working with youth and/or families, preferred.
