The Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the store manager in maintaining a positive environment, which provides fast, efficient, and friendly service ensuring a Total Quality Experience for both our customers and team members.
Shift Supervisor assists in training, customer service, product knowledge and education, encouraging safe work practices, and a demonstrated commitment to our Guiding Principles and House Rules.
This position directly supervises the barista and lead barista positions and acts as the manager on duty in the absence of the store and/or assistant manager.
*Skills*
* Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
* Computer literacy, Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Program, Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
* Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, multitasking and problem-solving skills
* Requires high organization and great attention to detail
* Performs with a “sense of urgency” and possesses a positive attitude
*Education & Experience*
* High School Diploma or GED, required
* Minimum (1) one year retail or customer service experience or (6) six months of specialty coffee experience
* Previous supervisory experience, preferred
* Register and cash handling experience
*Physical Requirements*
* Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
* Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects
* Frequent standing and walk for long periods of time, approximately 90% of shift
* Ability to bend over and kneel frequently
* Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds; occasionally carry up to 25 pounds
* Required to work in cold temperatures for long periods of time
