SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for fabrication and testing of digital and analog circuits, electronics assemblies and subassemblies.
Fabrication duties require proficiency with circuit plotters, soldering irons/stations, manual hand tools, test equipment such as network analyzers, signal generators, DMMs and skill in installation of surface mount technology components, including microminiature integrated circuits.
The Level I technician must also possess the ability to apply conductive and nonconductive coating and plating to circuit boards and enclosures under the supervision of a senior technician.
The technician shall be capable of basic troubleshooting of circuits, should be able to identify both surface mount and thru-hole components, and should be somewhat familiar reading schematics and board layouts.
Specific statements of duties not included do not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or may also include other duties assigned by Management.

SCOPE OF POSITION: A.
Reports to: Technician supervisor or manager.
B.
Supervises: None C.
Signature Authorities: None.
D.
Level of Interaction: Requires an entry level of mechanical and electrical fabrication and testing skills, have the capability to take direction from senior technicians and the engineering staff.
Will be required to test RF and digital circuits, fabricate RF and digital circuits, and work and assist senior level technician and engineering staff members.
III.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A.
Education: Associate's Degree from an accredited two-year college or university program in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Electro-mechanical Technology.
(Equivalent training in the Military and/or 3-5 years experience may be substituted for an Associates Degree).
B.
Experience: One to three (1-3) years in the fabrication and testing of RF and/or digital circuits.
(Experience may include instructional and other supervised experience sufficient to provide skills necessary to perform the duties/responsibilities).
C.
Abilities, Knowledge, and Skills: Ability to fabricate and test RF, analog and digital circuits.
Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design).
Various PC skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Professional Suite.
Will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Excellent communication skills.

Physical and/or Medical Demands: None.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with soldering, exposure to cable building.
