Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits as provided to regular BOR and Civil Service employees such as paid leave and holidays.
Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees and up to one calendar year for part-time employees.

Description of Duties:
Under general supervision provides development, evaluation, review and revision of Nurse Aide programs, including Adult Residential Care Home courses.
Implements instruction and evaluation of student performance in classroom/nursing lab and clinical experience.
Maintains training lab supplies and equipment.
Plans, manages and directs the classroom/lab and clinical experience for students.
Maintains a cooperative working relationship with staff at clinical sites to provide a safe learning environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Hawaii State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Health related field or Master’s degree in Business or Health related field and one year of direct work experience in healthcare or Bachelor’s degree in Business or Health related field and four years of direct work experience in healthcare.
Two years of nursing experience in healthcare of which at least one year must be in Long-Term Care.
Experience in teaching adults or supervising nurse aids.
Desired Qualifications:
Five years of experience in teaching adult learners and diverse populations relating to workforce training.
Five years of experience working in patient access.
Nurse Aide Training Instructor qualified or already “approved” by the Community Ties of America (CTA).
Knowledge of federal and state Medicare and Medicaid requirements.
Technical knowledge and expertise in the nursing field and hands-on skilled nursing.
