Ho`ōla Nā Pua and Rite of Passage have opened the first gender-specific residential treatment program in Hawaii specifically designed to provide services to commercially sexually exploited girls: Pearl Haven.
As a Licensed Equine Therapist, at Pearl Haven, you will be responsible to incorporate horses and other farm animals into clinical care, provide direct care assessment, treatment planning, counseling, and case management services to our clients.
This will include case management functions, coordination of care with other entities and weekly face-to-face meetings with the client care team.
What you will do:
Develops and provides equine and animal assisted therapeutic interventions for youth living in the residential treatment facility.
Develop equine and other animal protocols for youth participating in animal care including elements for nurturing physical and mental health for the youth and the animals.
Serve as the lead for all equine and animal assisted therapy services.
Be certified in or eligible to obtain certification in one of the following modalities: EAGALA, Natural Lifemanship, OK Corral or PATH.
Develop therapeutic and appropriate relationships with clients and their families/guardians on case load.
Provide quality and timely clinical assessments and treatment plans for all intakes and updates, annually at a minimum.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a master’s degree in a Social Service related field, independent license required
Ability to work outdoors for 50% or more of the workday.
A minimum of one year of experience working with children and adults with mental health concerns.
Fingerprint clearance card unrestricted.
Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
