Job Description AECOM has an opening for an Archaeologist in our Honolulu office to assist with a variety of projects.
This position will be On-site, working at the Hawaii historic preservation office located in Kapolei, HI.
The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to: + Review federal, state and local projects for potential impacts to historic properties in accordance with Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) Chapter 6E and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
This includes identification and inventory of historic properties, evaluation of significance, determination of effects to significant historic properties, development of mitigation commitments, development of mitigation plans, and verification of mitigation compliance.
+ Perform archaeological literature reviews and archival research.
+ Familiarity with Hawaii Administrative Rules (HAR) Chapters 198, 275 to 284, and 300 + Review permits for various city, county, and state agencies.
+ Upload all submittals and associated records and correspondence to an online database.
+ Scan and upload final reports to an internal archaeology library.
+ Assist in fieldwork, data analysis, collections processing, record keeping, interaction with Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) officers and the Honolulu Police Department.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications + BA/BS degree in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field; + 4 yrs of full-time professional experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in specialized training in archeological research, administration or management; Preferred Qualifications + Meet Secretary of the Interior professional qualifications in archeology, including: Professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archeological research, administration or management; + Familiarity with ArcGIS; + Four months of supervised field and analytic experience; + Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion.
Additional Information Compensation Exempt Position: The Offered rate of compensation for Honolulu, HI will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - 75,000.
