Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Planning Intern for employment in the Honolulu, Hawaii office.
_This position is expected to begin in May or June 2024.

About DCSA—Environment With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM’s global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals – to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks, and manage impacts.
We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Interpret and record data.
+ Conduct research and analyses.
+ Contribute to environmental documents and compliance processes.
+ Provide appropriate support to AECOM multidisciplinary teams.
+ Assisting in developing solutions for tasks which may include comprehensive planning and elements such as historic preservation, environmental impact assessment, environmental permitting, resource agency consultation and coordination, land use, transportation, capital improvements, infrastructure, housing, fiscal analysis, public policy, and site planning/analysis.
+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: + Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, Historic Preservation, Architecture, Hawaiian Studies, Cultural or Natural Resource Management, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, or other related field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
+ Candidates must have completed one year of study in their program.
Preferred Qualifications + Highly motivated and accountable.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Excellent organizational skills.
+ Experience with ArcGIS.
+ Working knowledge of MS Office Suite as well as overall strong computer proficiency.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Excellent technical writing, research, analytic, and graphic skills.
+ Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental and permitting processes and regulatory requirements (e.
g.
NEPA, NHPA Section 106, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Special Management Areas, Special Districts, etc.
).
