Job Description AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Environmental Scientist Intern for employment during the summer 2024 in our Honolulu, Hawaii office.
This position is expected to begin in May or June 2024.

Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Assist with field work (e.
g.
, drinking water, groundwater, and soil sampling, remediation system operations, and site inspections).
Collect and enter data and apply technical principles and theories to assist in interpreting and analyzing data.
Assisting project managers in preparing analytical summary tables, assessment reports, developing environmental site assessment and remediation strategies for contaminated sites, and preparation of draft and final plans and reports for agency approval.
Compare investigation findings to relevant studies and provincial/federal regulations to assess compliance, draft reports documenting results, and presenting findings.
Miscellaneous assignments on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements : Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or Geology with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
Candidates must have completed two years of study in their program.
Preferred Qualifications: Valid U.
S.
Driver’s License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available.
Relevant previous internship experience.
GIS experience.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Required to intermittently drive company or rental vehicles for work.
US Citizen, for access to DoD project files and data.
Additional Information Relocation assistance and/or per diem is not available for this position.
Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
Offered rate of compensation (Hawaii locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The hourly range for this position is $16.
