Overview of the Role The Clubhouse Director II directs and manages overall daily operations of the Clubhouse with a strong focus on comprehensive, outcome-driven programs, Continuous Quality Improvement, service delivery and fundraising/resource development.
Supervises and trains staff (direct and indirect reports), handles personnel issues, manages facility, and develops and manages a budget.
Actively engages and supports the Clubhouse Advisory Board, builds cohesive relationships with government and partner agencies in the Club communities, and fosters community & donor relations, volunteers, and administration.
Typically manages 10-20 staff (direct and indirect) and a budget of $400,000 to $700,000.
Who you are On your resume.
You have a four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
You have a minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
You have a minimum of three years’ experience in management and extensive supervisory, interpersonal and administrative skills.
Demonstrated ability in fundraising and fund development, personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Organized, responsive and attentive to detail.
Ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff.
Ability to deal effectively with youth members including discipline problems.
Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management.
Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
Versed in numerous business applications, including cloud-based programs, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, etc.
Proficiency in utilizing various online databases and systems to maintain efficient and organized records of donor information, fundraising activities, and program outcomes, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
Aptitude for quickly learning and mastering new technology platforms for operational management, including Microsoft OneDrive/SharePoint/Teams and other digital tools to streamline Clubhouse operations and enhance productivity.
Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
What you’ll do Leadership Establish Clubhouse programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates achievement of youth development outcomes.
Ensure a healthy, safe environment, with well-maintained facilities, equipment and supplies.
Ensure oversight of programs & staff at all times to ensure a safe environment for youth.
Lead by example through positive and inspiring communications and behaviors with the best of the organization and the youth we serve as the guiding foundation.
Provide leadership and direction to ensure the effective operation and delivery of programs within the club and community.
Support the organization’s mission and principles Ensure the implementation of youth programs, services and activities that meet the requirements of all grants and support youth development outcomes Ensure establishment of and adherence to policies and procedures Resource Development Work closely with the Development Department, Senior Leadership, and the Clubhouse Branch Board to raise funds through the various development initiatives run by the Club.
Ensure the annual budget is funded and clubhouse has adequate cash flow.
Develop strategic plans to generate revenue through a variety of fundraising techniques.
Execute fundraising strategy through existing events and donor solicitation calls, including Annual events and other approved fundraising activities.
Actively seek out new funding opportunities through grants and sponsorships.
Meet with individual donors, corporations, foundations and community leaders to share the Boys & Girls Clubs message and articulate the need for funding support.
Actively represent the organization through speaking engagements, attendance at community events and membership in appropriate organizations.
Provide guidance to staff and volunteers performing resource development functions.
Strategic Planning Plan, develop, implement and evaluate strategy for overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation.
Resource Management Manage Clubhouse financial resources, assisting in the development of annual budgets.
Control expenditures against budget.
Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain the operation of the Club’s physical properties and equipment, including use of facilities by outside groups.
Ensure compliance with organization policies.
Recruit, manage and provide career development opportunities for Club staff and volunteers.
Conduct regular staff meetings.
Ensure productive and effective performance of youth development level professionals and other club staff by implementing key performance indicators and other measurable goals/outcomes.
Consistently track progress in BambooHR and ensure performance reviews for all club staff are submitted twice a year through BambooHR.
Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures and trends, notable achievements and any problems/issues.
Comply to ensure member data is protected and not shared.
Partnership Development Develop collaborative partnerships with parents, community leaders, organizations, members, families, funders, board members, and businesses.
Work closely with parents and guardians to promote support for the clubs via consistent communication and interactions.
Marketing and Public Relations Develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs, services and activities within the Club and the community.
Coordinate all marketing, communications, and public relations opportunities with the Development and Marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging.
Oversee all aspects of communication via website, social media, newsletters, and marketing materials sent to Development and Marketing teams.
Facilities Management Ensure the Clubhouse Facility, and all adjoining property, is well maintained, clean, and safe to use by Club Members.
Additional Responsibilities Purchase and/or approve purchase of supplies and equipment.
Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments.
Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan.
Performs other duties as assigned to ensure success of programs and the Club operations.
Relationship Building and Maintaining Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information.
Maintain contact with Branch boards.
Regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.
External: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.
