*Key Responsibilities:* * *Backflow Preventer Valve Replacement:* * Execute the removal and replacement of backflow preventer valves in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Follow established procedures and safety protocols to ensure the proper installation and alignment of new valves.
* *Tightness Testing:* * Perform tightness tests on the replaced valves to verify their integrity and functionality.
* Adhere to strict standards for allowable leakage, ensuring that systems meet or exceed specified performance criteria.
* *System Integrity Testing:* * Conduct system integrity tests on disturbed piping using nominal operating system pressure and temperature.
* Ensure that the system remains leak-free under operational conditions, with zero allowable leakage.
* *Reporting and Documentation:* * Prepare comprehensive reports detailing the results of system integrity tests and tightness tests.
* Submit reports to the supervisor in either hard copy or electronic format, ensuring legibility and accuracy.
* *Surface Protection:* * Implement surface protection measures as per regulatory requirements (e.
g.

1) for all new and disturbed surfaces.
* Adhere to established procedures to prevent contamination and ensure the long-term integrity of system components.
*Qualifications:* * Proven experience in plumbing, pipefitting, or related field, with a focus on backflow prevention systems.
* Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory guidelines governing backflow prevention and valve replacement procedures.
* Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in tools and equipment used for valve installation and testing.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to precision and accuracy in all tasks.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Certification as a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) or equivalent preferred.
*Education and Experience:* * High school diploma or equivalent required; additional vocational training or certification in plumbing or pipefitting preferred.
