Structural Systems is growing and looking for new team members who are highly motivated to take lead on the project.
*Job Purpose* An assistant superintendent is primarily in charge of supervising workers to ensure that the construction project's completion will be within the expected time and allotted budget.
Responsibilities revolve around assisting the superintendent with their tasks, creating schedules, and meeting with clients.
The Assistant Superintendent’s duty is to help the Superintendent to achieve maximum production in the most efficient manner.
Furthermore, an assistant superintendent must also coordinate with all construction workers and build rapport with them, all while implementing the safety policies and standards for a safe and productive work environment.
*Duties and Responsibilities* * Assist with Project Scheduling Updates * Assist Superintendent in holding jobsite meetings, scheduling updates, managing subcontractors, walk through with inspectors * Direct and control the project to ensure timelines are met * Works with subcontractors and scheduling in proper work sequence to complete project within the given budget and time frame * Change Order Document Gathering * Quality Control Measures * Handling Site Logistics * Overseeing work among all trades to promote a coordinated project operation * Acting as on-site liaison to inspection agencies * Communicates with supervisor of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and to improve construction methods.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure * Ability to walk thru prepare, schedule and supervise punch lists * Promotes jobsite safety and encourages safe work place practices * Maintain good working relationships with inspectors, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and others connected with the jobsite * Maintains proper coverage by managing the extraction staffing schedule *Competencies* * Problem Solving/ Analysis.

*Supervisory Responsibilities* This position has support staff and is responsible for assigning/reviewing work to the Superintendent.
*Working Conditions* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and may be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.
This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
*Physical Requirements* The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.

*Travel* Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some projects may require more out-of-the-area and overnight travel.
*Required Education and Experience* * Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or three to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* General Construction * Masonry *Preferred Education and Experience* * Managerial experience.
* Strong communication skills; thorough and attentive to details; able to prioritize and multitask; proactive and deadline oriented.
* Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at various levels.
*Work Authorization/Security Clearance* Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain security pass to federal job sites.
