*POSITION SUMMARY:*
Maintains a healthy environment for all staff, members, and participants of the YMCA.
Keeps facility and grounds in a clean and orderly condition.
Works with supervisor to assure the optimal functioning and maintenance of building/ building systems, including but not limited to mechanical, fire/life safety, and pool maintenance.
Provides a safe facility for staff and members.
This position reports to the Senior Program Director and/or Foreman.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
*Skills/Knowledge:*
* Performs manual tasks for cleaning, repair, and new installations
* Works with general cleaning chemicals
* Sweeps, vacuums, scrubs, mops, waxes, landscapes
* Uses light, power-operated or manual cleaning, maintenance, or landscaping equipment such as drills, floor buffer, power washer, hammer, lawn mower, and chain saw
* Handles pool chemicals and pool maintenance equipment i.
e.
pool vacuum
* Assists supervisor in repair and maintenance projects
* Immediately reports necessary repairs or supplies as needed
* Cleans designated areas as assigned
* Must be able to read and understand directions, specifically pertaining to the use of cleaning supplies and equipment
*Education/Training:*
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred
* Valid driver’s license
*Experience:*
* 2 year minimal janitorial, maintenance, and landscaping experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.
00 per hour
