Position located in Honolulu, HI.
Maintenance & Modernization has an opening for a highly motivated Electrical Operations Supervisor to support delivered ship work at EB, Hawaii.
This position is for an Electrical Operations Supervisor tasking may also require the ability to provide daily direction and technical assistance to a multi-disciplined crew, as required (e.
g.
Electricians, Shipfitters, Welders, Machinists, Sheetmetal Workers, etc.
) of up to 17 tradesmen.
The Electrical Operations Supervisor will manage the performance of the group's Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement as well as be responsible for the administration and execution of the craft's work paper (i.
e.
Work Orders, EWP, ERS, TGIs, DLs, ERs, Unsats, Test Forms, etc).
The selected individual shall interface with on-site Ops Supervision, Area Superintendant, General Foreman, Engineering, Ship's Management, other off-site organizations, and various government/shipyard employees.
The Electrical Operations Supervisor shall be responsible for developing good work practices along with process improvements, and ensure assigned personnel conform to all regulatory and EB requirements.
Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States is required.
The successful candidate will be expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 5 years working in an industrial marine environment
Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, and manufacturing industry
Primary experience with Marine Electrical submarine systems with the ability to manage and oversee other trades
Preferred:
5+ years supervisory experience
Fiber Optic qualification.
Blown Fiber is preferred
Welding, NDT, Electrical, RADCON, and QA experience in maritime environment
Skills:
Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.
The candidate must possess strong analytical, causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, and writing skills under minimal supervision.
Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Cornerstone, ERS/EWP, MRPII, and Microsoft Outlook are necessary to successfully perform this assignment.
Manage, mentor, train electrical crew on installation of multiple ship systems on delivered submarines (Trident, 688, Seawolf, and Virginia Class submarines)
Ability to use NAVSEA/SP ships drawings, technical manuals, ship system manuals and various other documents in the performance of this task is a must.
Must have detailed knowledge of Electrical plug building (i.
e.
Copper, Coaxial, Fiber).
Must understand Electrical Methods drawings IAW MIL-STD-2003.
Knowledge of SP/SSP's, MDP's/MDD's, SI's, SDD's, and DI's is a plus
Must be able to qualify and maintain Respiratory Protection certification.
Must be able to qualify and maintain Fall Arrest Protection certification.
Must be able to qualify and maintain Lifting & Handling / Industrial Trucks certification.
Must be able to qualify and maintain the EB Heavy Metals Program requirements.
Must be able to qualify and maintain Fiber Optic certifications.
Must be able to qualify and maintain Stud Shooting certifications.
Must be able to pass a proficiency exam during interview process.
