Overview:
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Responsible for the implementation, delivery, and day-to-day ownership of the Company's physical security standards and programs for administrative, distribution, transmission, production and storage locations.
You will provide the strategic direction for physical security operational standards and work closely with the operations team members as it relates to protecting employees and assets, investigations of loss, incident or breach, and development of security systems and technologies.
This position is also intended to work cooperatively with other corporate risk management areas, including risk assessment, insurance and claims.
Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform comprehensive security risk assessments throughout the company, identifying threats and support site leadership in formulating mitigation plans.
Prepare comprehensive risk management plan and update annually.
Develop, implement, and document security policies and procedures to reduce and mitigate security risks of Company facilities, assets, and personnel.
Prepare comprehensive security program and update annually.
Ensure compliance with company vehicle transportation security program.
Oversee contracted security personnel.
Train supervisors, managers, and employees throughout the Company on loss prevention and security.
Coordinate with general managers to investigate large and/or suspicious inventory loss.
Conduct random inspections and audits of the facilities and departmental procedures involving loss prevention and security.
Assist with internal investigations of reported security incidents.
Ensure proper processes are in place for monitoring of surveillance cameras and door reader operation to ensure internal and external security.
Ensure proper processes are in place for the issuance and maintenance of employee ID badges/access cards.
Ensure site processes are in place involving alarm systems; including maintaining user lists of all personnel authorized to access the alarm keypad at all facilities, reviewing alarm activity logs for discrepancies and alerting appropriate management, and contacting alarm system vendors as needed for repairs, updates, etc.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable government compliance regulations, which may include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) regulations.
Assist the company Safety Manager as needed in investigations involving workplace injuries, motor vehicle collisions, and property damage and policy violations.
Perform similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor.
OTHER FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Complies with all safety rules and cooperates in the fullest in the promotion of safety and safe work habits, to include the reporting of any unsafe conditions or acts.
Maintains all compliance training on a current basis.
Complies with all applicable MIC and Hawaii Gas policies and procedures.
Maintains assigned work area and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner; performs housekeeping duties as required and/or instructed.
Works in a safe and responsible manner.
Performs all other related duties as instructed by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications: Required Education and/or Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Three to five years of loss prevention, law enforcement, or related corporate or manufacturing security experience.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to interface and influence effectively across all levels in the organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex facts with clarity and in a way that can be understood by non-security professionals.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Experience working in a corporate headquarters setting.
Experience with emphasis in industrial security and regulated facilities.
Preferred Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation: Physical Security Professional (PSP) or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar.
Certified Homeland Protection Professional (CHPP) Communication/Competency/Skill Requirements: Must maintain confidentiality and integrity of all sensitive data.
Flexible and adaptable to changes within the position/department/company.
Able to steward themselves in a professional and courteous manner to promote a harmonious working environment.
Able to communicate professionally, courteously, and effectively utilizing standards means of communication within the workplace (i.
