PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Perform tasks involving physical labor and heavy construction sites.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
Shovels, tamps and rakes asphalt.
Digs, spreads and levels dirt, sand and gravel using a pick, shovel, or rake.
Lift, carry and hold construction materials, tools and supplies.
Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials using hand tools.
Performs a variety of machine tasks such as tapping soil, jack hammering and assisting in the fusing of pipe.
Performs a variety of routine non-machine tasks such as removing forms, filling excavation, placing piping sections in trench and assembling sections of pipe.
Hammers in grade stakes, checks for proper positioning, set string line in front of paver, pick up traffic control devices.
Load and unload trucks as needed.
Pick up after self and others to maintain clean work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:
Arrive on time, ready/able to work, stay until shift/work is complete.
Able to work flexible hours/travel to neighbor island / perform work at all shift times.
Communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers at all levels
Able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly.
Able to sit/stand/walk, bend, squat, crouch, reach over shoulder, climb, balance, push and pull frequently
Ability to read and comprehend material use instructions as well as basic work-related documents.
Ability to work as a team member.
