System Administrator
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The successful System Administrator (SA) candidate will be part of the distributed KBR team supporting the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) All Domain Test Range (ADTR) and INDOPACOM Pacific-Rim Multi-Domain Training and Experimentation Capability Team.
The successful candidate will work with the distributed team consisting of: data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, network engineers, cybersecurity, and event lead team members to support TRMC’s ADTR node at Camp Smith, Oahu, HI.
The SA will be expected to take over all aspects of the oversight, configuration, maintenance, and cybersecurity of: Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) Secret Network (JSN) Node, JMETC Multiple Independent Levels of Security Network (JMN) Node, Secret Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN), Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN); Administer existing circuits from the ADTR Node to the Pacific Warfighting Center (PWC) on Ford Island; Administer existing equipment for capability support such as: Dell VxRail, TOR Switch and Net-App to support existing Knowledge Management node; Offramp equipment in support of the PECOC capability; Design, acquisition support, implementation, and administration of new procured hardware; Management and configuration of infrastructure and configuration of operating systems and to include maintenance of firmware and ESXi on hosts or operating systems to include but not limited to VMware, Linux, Windows Server; Network engineering support, network characterization and analysis, onsite network troubleshooting support, assistance with site installation, ports, protocols, and services (PPS); Maintenance of firmware, operating systems, and other software used for connectivity including but not limited to Cisco, Juniper, and Aruba.
The SA will be a valuable member of the INDOPACOM and TRMC team and will be expected to use their experience and problem-solving skills to provide solutions to complex problems in a manner which meets both functional and security requirements.
Primary duty will be the system administration of the environment to include maintaining the cybersecurity of the system.
As a SA, you will be a critical part of our team responsible for evaluating customer requirements pertaining to complex technical challenges.
You will be responsible for keeping the team’s testing environment operational and in compliance with all TRMC directives and applicable RMF requirements.
To do this you will frequently work with other distributed team members to discuss current system status and desired future enhancements.
System Administrators of all seniority levels are encouraged to apply and will be considered.
Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Primary responsibilities: Responsible for the administration of: Computer systems hardware, network gear, software, information systems & peripheral equipment such as servers, desktops, zero clients, storage devices, and virtualization infrastructure.
Maintains, installs, upgrades and configures data systems (Windows/Linux/VMWare/SQL Server), administers operating systems (Windows/Linux), and maintains basic security and recovery procedures such as performing patches and system backups.
Administration of infrastructure including but not limited to: servers, zero clients, malware protection software, HBSS, syslog servers, databases, etc.
Under general supervision, solves complex problems requiring detailed knowledge of field and industry best practices.
Uses experience and problem-solving skills to develop and improve processes Upgrades systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and/or security issue resolution.
Authors and/or reviews configuration change requests and attends all configuration change review board meetings.
Identifies potential risks or inefficiencies associated with the configuration of the system and recommends appropriate mitigation strategies.
Ensures compliance with data security policies, relevant legal and regulatory requirements, and TRMC cyber security program implementation plans in accordance with TRMC directives and applicable RMF requirements.

CITIZEN WITH THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A SECURITY CLEARANCE Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 6 years' experience (experience may be substituted in lieu of degree) Preferred Experience Strong background in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of virtualization environments Experience maintaining systems within a DoD Risk management Framework (RMF) accredited environment Strong Windows and Linux administration skills Good understanding and experience maintaining zero clients Must enjoy working on and integrating cutting edge technologies KBR is an equal opportunity employer.
