This position independently inspects structures during construction to ascertain whether construction methods, practices, materials and workmanship conform to provisions of contracts, plans, specifications, regulations and standard methods of work.
This is the full performance level for building construction inspection work involving a broad range of inspection functions for a variety of construction operations, materials, and methods under varying conditions and requirements.
This position inspects, tests and measures construction materials used, and checks methods employed in the construction at hand; inspects the erection of false work and concrete forms used; accepts or rejects concrete forms, construction equipment and materials based on specifications or modifications; keeps detailed records of work completed and materials used; prepares and submits routine inspection reports as directed and perform other related duties as assigned.
This position is responsible for inspecting one or more of the following:
* Concrete
* Reinforcing Steel & Prestressing Steel Tendons
* Structural Welding
* High Strength Bolting
* Structural Masonry
* Spray Applied Fireproofing
* Piling, Drilled Piers and Caissons
* Shotcrete
* Sheathed Shear Wall & Diaphragms
* Complete Load Path & Uplift Ties
Requirements:
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Must be able to properly move and lift up to 50lbs 10-20 times per day
* Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
* Must be able to ascend and descend stairs and ladders multiple times per day
* Must tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions
* Background in construction and plan reading is preferred but not required
* ICC and/or ACI certifications are a plus; if none, certifications must be acquired during employment
