Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the senior level PC Maintenance Technician position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
As a Personal Computer Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing and performing advanced maintenance and support activities for the organization's desktop and laptop systems.
This role involves diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues, ensuring the overall health and performance of PCs, and providing technical guidance to junior technicians.
The Senior PC Maintenance Technician will play a key role in implementing preventive maintenance strategies, optimizing system configurations, and staying abreast of emerging technologies to enhance the organization's IT infrastructure.

Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues on Windows and/or Mac systems Strong knowledge of PC hardware components, peripherals, and troubleshooting techniques Experience with imaging and deployment tools (e.
g.
, SCCM, Ghost) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for maintenance or critical issue resolution Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues on desktops and laptops Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of PCs Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior PC maintenance technicians Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and implement best practices for PC maintenance Oversee the deployment and configuration of new desktops and laptops Coordinate hardware and software upgrades and replacements as needed Maintain an accurate inventory of all desktop and laptop assets Collaborate with procurement to ensure the availability of necessary hardware components Implement and enforce security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for PC configurations, maintenance procedures, and issue resolutions Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles for common technical issues Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues Evaluate and recommend new products and solutions to improve PC performance Conduct training sessions for end-users on proper PC usage and basic troubleshooting Stay informed about the latest technologies and industry trends Education / Certifications BS: Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I SSCP or A+ CE or CCNA Security or Network+CE Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are a plus Benefits Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance Flexible Spending Accounts 401(k) PTO Tuition reimbursement Paid federal holidays Security Clearance Must be a U.

The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
