Systems Engineer
Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Systems Engineer with GDIT at the Joint Multinational Simulation Center - Indo Pacific (JMSC-IP); the Pacific's premier simulation complex.

HOW A SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Prepares and maintains documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology, always on the lookout for new technologies, and works with management to evolve current processes
Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.
Invents innovative ways to drive production operational efficiency
Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements
Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems
Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements
Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems
Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers
Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: BS/BA (in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field with concentration in computer based technology); or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF); Knowledge of VMWare (Skills and assessment); Understanding of DISA STIGs as well as real-world implementation instruction; WAN/LAN experience; TCP/IP troubleshooting; Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment; Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering principles, methods, and techniques; Experience with HBSS administration; SQL; and Linux RedHat
Security Clearance Level: SECRET clearance is required with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance
Required Skills and Abilities: Superb communication and documentation skills; strong ability to advise and educate leadership through non-technical terms; must be able to work as part of a team; be flexible and have the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
